Story: Thirty-Five years have passed since the first Camaro came out of the factory. We honor the 1967 Camaro this month and feature a car that was like most that came off the line in 1967. The Z-28s, SSs and RS/SSs are nice but you would find more produced like this gold beauty than the highly optioned cars seen today. Terry Taylor, one of our newer members, purchased this car about one month ago. He looked at cars in the Dallas area but all were either too much of a project or more than he wanted to spend. Terry wanted a basic Camaro Coupe with a few simple options and found it in Mt. Pleasant. He had a ’69 growing up and missed the old gal. Since acquiring his car, Terry has added Vintage A/C, a new brake booster and correct master cylinder. He has plans to add a 4 core radiator to keep up with the new A/C, multi leaf rear springs, front end bushings, kick panels, factory shifter to replace the B&M and a new exhaust system. He has decided not to make a clone out of the ’67. Terry says there is nothing wrong with clones, but it is just not what he is looking for. It seems fitting that Terry is keeping his car mostly stock, just like the most common type to roll off the line way back when.
