Story: Alan Pound has been collecting first gen Camaros for some time now. Anyone that has been to his shop in Emory, and seen the 20 or so donor cars out back can attest to it. This Hugger Orange 1969 is his latest creation. The car was acquired in 1996. Alan did a frame off restoration job with all the work performed at his shop other than the convertible top. Alan debuted the car at Super Chevy in May to the oohs and ahhs of fellow club members. He owns all three years of first gen cars but I think this is the one he is most proud of. Alan and co-owner, Ronnie McEnturff, run a paint and body shop in Emory, about 30 miles east of Dallas. Both are true lovers of classic cars and especially, first generation Camaros. Every September they sponsor the Emory Car Show in downtown Emory. The streets are cordoned off and classic cars are parked as far as the eye can see on both sides of the street. If you want to experience a trip back in time and see some real nice classic cars, including Alan’s ’69 and Ronnie’s ’69 Z-11 Pace Car, plan on a trip to Emory. The trip takes about 45 minutes total from Dallas and is well worth the time. Contact Alan at 903-473-4445 for directions and information. For more information click here. Hope to see you there, and be sure to tell Alan hello!
