Story: It took Ron Salsini four and a half years to restify his 1969 RS/SS Camaro. He had some rare options to begin with, but that didn’t stop him from adding several touches of his own. He started by balancing and blueprinting the L48 350, 350 hp small block. He added 202 cast heads by ET Automotive, MSD 6AL, K&N Air filter, Holley 750 double pumper and fuel pump, Edelbrock Polished performer intake and cam, Cloyes dbl. timing chain, Melling oil pump, Moroso 7qt. oil pan and MSD Coil and wires for more gusto. To help the new motor breathe, he added a Flowmaster exhaust and Headman headers. Power is routed through the Lakewood bellhousing, Hayes clutch, Fortes custom Tremec 5 speed transmission, Series 4 Auburn posi. rear end with Richmond 373 gears and Mouser axles. Suspension improvements include full PST polygraphite bushings, KYB shocks, Addco rear sway bar, heavy front sway bar and Competition frame connectors. Of course if you have the get up and go, at some point you need to stop and that is done with four wheel Wilwood disc brakes with emergency brake, Additional adders include Vintage Air, 100 amp one wire alternator, remoter starter solenoid, Optima battery, Line locks and Italian horns. The core support, inner wheel wells, frame connectors and an additional 109 parts are powder coated. The rest is sand blasted and painted with POR 15. The car won Super Chevy Camaro street class in 1999, and an additional 40 some trophies since.
