Story:
Roger Walls had been looking for a '67 or '68 for about six months.  He had  been attending a car show one afternoon with a buddy and checked the classifieds after they had left.  At the show, he commented to his friend that after looking for so long, he would probably find one about a mile away from his house.  He saw a '67 in the classifieds with a phone prefix close to his house.  After calling the number, he quickly drove over to the house which coincidently was about 1/2 block from his folks' house.  Roger went back with his dad on Monday to look at it more closely and find out just how deep of a money-pit it would be.  They decided it was deep enough and Roger went back Tuesday to buy it where upon the car wouldn't start-not a good sign.  The owner fiddled with it overnight, and he went back Wednesday to try again.  This time it started so Roger paid the man his money and drove away.  No sooner had he turned two corners when he started to hear what sounded like big chunks of gravel hitting the front driver's side fender well...but the road was clear.  Turns out those noises weren't big chunks of gravel, they were lug nuts and wheel washers.  Off came the entire front driver's side wheel assembly,  down he went dragging to a stop on the wheel drum, and away goes his tire on one of the busiest streets in El Paso.  Fortunately the previous owner, on his way to the bank, stopped and had a jack.  They got the tire back on (with the few nuts and washers they could find scattered on the street), and limped slowly home
. Roger with the help of his Dad, has done major work to the interior and exterior since that fateful night and he and his wife, Amanda, are happy all that is behind them.
