Story:
John (age 15) had wanted a first-gen Camaro for years. He and John Sr. drove all over North Texas looking for that special car waiting in a barn. No such luck. John spent all last summer working in Florida cleaning pools 14 hours a day 6 days a week. Last fall, John Jr. and Sr. scanned the web daily for a bargain. This green coupe showed up one afternoon on eBay motors, with no reserve and only two hours left in the auction. Having never bid on anything before, they threw in a bid, and two hours later...Holy Camaro! They won the bid at way less than any other car they ad seen in months. After exchanging plenty of e-mails with the seller, John dispatched Dad to Chicago to inspect the car, and haul it back if it met muster. It did! Newly rebuilt engine and transmission, great interior and good paint, everything working but the factory A/C. Some lower panel rust that had been disclosed by the seller wasn’t too bad to derail this deal. Three days later, Sr. delivered Jr’s Camaro. Ever since, the two have been inseparable. One good feature, the Camaro has great pick-up and instant credibility with all the girls and mothers too. To pass inspection, John had a Flowmaster exhaust installed. In December, Rod Moore installed a Vintage Air system to replace the heater and A/C. A multi disk CD was another essential, along with the SS and 350 emblems. John’s future plans include a higher ratio rear axle, big amp and speakers, rust clean-up, and most importantly spending many great hours with his new baby. And of course back to Florida in the summer to pay for it all!
